Sunday’s trip left the dock at 6:15.  Everyone showed up early so there was no point in waiting.  The seas were only about 3 feet but it was a vigorous chop that was bucking at a different angle from the wind.  We had about 12-15’ of vis and the bottom temp was a brisk 45°.  Chris tied us in about midships.  There wasn’t an overabundance of bugs on the wreck, but a few people still produced.  Vic K got a decent keeper and Dennis the mate got a nice 2”ish” pounder.  I went down last and came upon I rickety abandoned lobster pot.  It apparently hadn’t inspired much interest from the other divers, but I like to get up close to check things out.  I saw one bug inside and when I moved the trap I noticed some decent tog inside.  I lashed the door shut and sent the whole shopping basket up.  Turned out to contain 5 keeper tog and one bug.  The largest tog was 22 inches and 8.5 lbs.  The end of the day tally was fairly productive with other tog and sea bass coming on board after the second dive.  All in all, everyone had a good time and most took home fish dinner.
